Christmas Eve

by Jessica on January 7, 2013

Wow, only took me a few weeks to get this up! Oh well, at least I got around to it eventually. On Christmas Eve, we got the boys up and headed over to Trevor’s parents’ house. The boys had a great morning opening gifts and playing outside on the swing set. We started to notice that something was up with Knox during present-opening. He just started to cry out of nowhere, and it took us a while to get him to calm back down. They played with gifts for a while, and we enjoyed a great lunch of grilled hamburgers. At that point, Knox was obviously not feeling well and was finally coerced into taking a very long nap with his grandpa. The highlight of my day was the TWO HOUR NAP I got to take. Merry Christmas to me! I cannot nap. I am seriously incapable of it, but Brody had been keeping me awake constantly cutting his first tooth, so I guess it caught up to me.

After I woke up, we got our things together and headed across the pond (not the Atlantic… an actual pond) to Trevor’s grandparents’ house. The boys were the only kids over there, so they were naturally doted on and given lots of attention. Knox spent most of the night running around the house like a whirlwind, and Brody spent his evening trying to pilfer food off of everyones’ plates. He found an ally in Pop, Trevor’s grandfather, who introduced him to turkey… and a huge turkey bone. Yes, I nearly had a heart attack, but I took some pictures before I took it away and gave him some Cheerios!

We couldn’t take them on the hayride that was planned because it was raining, but they still had a great night! Then, it was off to our house and to bed so that Santa could come and visit!

(You can click these pictures to make them bigger, there were so many, this post would’ve taken up the entire screen!)

P.S. The adorable striped and embroidered pajamas were made by my incredibly talented blog friend, Emily. She makes the cutest stuff!

Sounds like you had a great Christmas Eve with your family. And, don’t feel bad. I haven’t posted about our Christmas yet.

Looks like they had a great time! Love those grey and red jams. I bought them for Hudson too and they are just so dang cute!
