There is not much to say that hasn’t been said. All we can do is pray for those families in Connecticut that lost a sweet baby yesterday. Sometimes in life things happen that make us ask “why??” Our God is a good God, and He does not make bad things happen. He gave us free will, and unfortunately, we live in a fallen world. People make bad decisions, horrendous decisions, and the rest of us have to sit and wonder what they were thinking. We experience hardships daily that we may not understand, and in the wake of tragedy, we’re left with that inevitable feeling of anxiety and disgust. Where do we go from here? How do we send our kids to school and not be afraid? What kind of a world are they having to grow up in? How does their future look? We put our trust in God, because that’s all that we can do, and we rejoice that this world is NOT all there is. Thank God, we have a living hope of things to come. A place where He holds 20 sweet children in His arms until their parents can hug them again. A place where we don’t have to question “why?” and be afraid. Thank God that we have His promise of a new tomorrow when yesterday just doesn’t make any sense at all.
“My soul finds rest in God alone; my salvation comes from him. He alone is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I will never be shaken.” ~ Psalm 62:1-2
