Well, folks, we made it. I am officially 37 weeks pregnant! Woo hoo!! I really didn’t know what to expect with this pregnancy, but I had a feeling we’d get close, if not all the way to term this time. Now the big question is… WHEN? Well, don’t ask me! I have not a clue. I have barely had any contractions for the past couple days, and I am wondering if my body was stalling labor because I was sick. I am *nearly* healed with just a tad bit of residual congestion, but I feel good again, thank goodness!
I took it upon my self to do tons of stuff today (grocery shopping, sweeping, mopping, cleaning/organizing the kitchen, washing dishes, cooking, etc), and towards the evening, I started to get LOTS of contractions. It’s around midnight now (hello, insomnia) and I’m still getting a good many. Of course, they’re not hurting at all, just really tight. We shall see if this trend continues into the daylight hours (I hope so!). Speaking of cooking, look what I made my lucky husband for dinner:
Man, I missed cooking when I was on bed rest! I could eat every bit of this again, even though I just finished eating it not that long ago. It was good. And I ate so much, I started having contractions… I guess that’s a sign of over-eating, huh? And thank goodness, Knox ate what we ate tonight! He didn’t have steak, but he did have the loaded potatoes, a roll and fresh fruit and ate them like crazy. I feel victorious when he eats something besides chicken or a grilled cheese!
Now that I’ve gotten myself hungry again, let’s get back to talking about baby stuff! I am ready to have this baby, now that we’re in the full-term zone, so I am pumped to go into labor. Plus, it’s kind of a weird situation with Trevor’s job- he has to give them advance notice (yeah right) if possible, so they can cover his shift, but as we know, babies don’t exactly send us a postcard letting us know when they’re coming. So. As of now, he is scheduled to have Tuesday and Friday off next week (his two shifts) since our appointment is Tuesday morning. As I’ve said before, if I’m at 5 cm or more, they’re sending me over to the hospital to deliver, so we kind of had to plan for that! If I’m not ready by then, I guess Trevor will just go to work and hopefully won’t have to lose one of his personal days!
If I go to that appointment and am the same as I was last week, I am going to be so disappointed! I’m getting my hopes up for a Valentine’s Day baby. Ideally, I’d love to go into labor by myself over the weekend, but it’s not really up to me, now is it?! Oh, and my stomach is hilarious. Brody is curled up on the left side almost all the time, so my belly is totally crooked. This also explains why I don’t have stretch marks on the right side of my stomach! This would be my view from above right now:
See what I mean?
And for no other reason than because I love him to pieces, look at my sweet boy. He covered himself up in a blanket on the couch and just smiled and smiled while watching “Sesame Street.” I melt over him.
I can’t believe he’s about to be a big brother! He’s still such a baby to me, but then again, I’m sure I’ll feel that way when he’s 35. But he will always be MY baby!

I am so glad you’ve made it to full-term! What great news!! Praying you have a wonderful and blessed weekend and that someone was able to get to the store to make sure you have Breaking Dawn Part 1 today
The Special Features are great!
Holly, I’m making a trip to Target this morning, and that *may* have to go on the list!!
Crossing my fingers and saying a special prayer that Brody comes soon!
Thanks, Lindsay!
Good luck! My little man was born 11 days ago. My belly looked just like that because he was on one side!
I hope you have a fast and smooth delivery! You look great by the way. I’ll be sending some labor dust your way!! I’m guessing Monday
Woohoo!! Congrats!!!
Way to go, Brody! You made it!!
I will hold out hope that you go into labor this weekend. Although a V-Day baby would be pretty great.
Enjoy your weekend, it may be your last as a mama of 1!
Congrats on making it to full term!
Your “celebratory” dinner looks delicious! I totally know what you’re saying about feeling like it’s a victory to get your LO to eat something other than the usual. It’s like a gift to me every time DS will just eat what we’re having for dinner!
Congrats on making it to full term! You must be so relieved.
That’s so funny that your belly is lopsided – I’m 10 weeks behind you in my pregnancy, and my little guy likes to flip from side to side and relax there for hours. It’s not a profound lopsidedness, but I can definitely tell from my view, and sometimes I can see how uneven it is if I look at my bare belly head-on in the mirror. So funny.
you made it!!! yaaaayyyyyyy!
Yay- you made it! Now, here’s to hoping for a Valentine’s baby. I totally had a lop-sided belly too. You almost made me miss it there for a (very) quick minute.
Congrats on being full term!! Knox will look so big to you when you have Brody!
