We had Knox’s follow-up at the cardiologist this morning. We established that the SVT (fast heart beat) was gone since we hadn’t seen it since the NICU, but he still had a tiny hole at the top of his heart. Normally, this closes at birth or shortly thereafter, but it was still there at our last appointment. Knox had an ultrasound of his heart today, and the hole was closed up! Woo hoo! He did a great job during the ultrasound, which totally brought me back to my pregnancy days except that I wasn’t the one on the table, it was a weird reversal of positions for him to be the one there. He started to get upset when the tech put the gel on him, but I sang to him the whole time and he was great. I’m sure the tech appreciated hearing my glorious singing, which is comparable to the sound of a bag full of dying cats. Oh well, all in a day’s work. We go back in six months for our last visit (I swear, they keep telling us it’s the last visit… I think they just like Knox over there). The doc told us “You’re out of the woods,” which was music to my ears. Even though we haven’t seen any issues since a few days after his birth, hearing that Knox is in the clear is still great news!

WONDERFUL NEWS!!
Congrats Mama! I know how hard those first few days were and I am sure all of those memories came flooding back. So good to know that your sweet boy is on the mend. The heart is an amazing thing.
Also, ALL moms are great singers – the only ones who aren’t are those who do not try.
