How to aggravate a baby

by Jessica on September 1, 2010

It’s super easy. Just sew a tiny monkey toy into his pocket. I fell in love with these precious shorts from Gymboree a couple of months ago, and of course, we had to get them with our Gymbucks.

They are ridiculously adorable. And ridiculously irritating to Knox who REALLY wants that monkey. I mean, he wants it bad. Every time I put these shorts on him, I just watch and wait for him to rediscover that “Oh yeah! A monkey is in my pocket!” You can almost see the gears turning in his head, and then the confusion comes across his face as to why he can’t manage to get this darn monkey into his mouth. Today, he discovered the monkey while I was carrying him up to my office, and well, it’s kinda hard to hang onto a baby and a diaper bag when said baby folds himself in half in a desperate (yet futile) attempt to eat the monkey. I have to say that this kid has perseverance. Eventually, he gives up, but not before trying his darndest (and getting that pocket very slobbery).

Note to Gymboree: in the future, attach the toy to the pocket with velcro instead of sewing it in. Or at least make the string longer. You’re driving the kids bananas. <– Yes, I did it.  Don’t hate me because I’m corny like that.
