Okay, this whole WordPress thing, I don’t think it’s working out. I know it’s new, and I need to give it some time, but I don’t like it. I just don’t. My comment box is filled with spam, all of a sudden there is some weird site stealing my posts and it just doesn’t FEEL right. I think I’m going to switch back. Maybe I’m just not cool enough for WordPress, y’all.
Now that that’s out of the way…
This weekend was a really good one. We went to Sunday school for the first time yesterday, and I have to say, I was so nervous! I haven’t been since I was making frames out of popsicle sticks, so it’s definitely been a while. At least I had Trevor with me as moral support! Our church started a new class for young married people, and we figured that sounded like a good fit. So far, there are five couples in there, but as big as our church is, I am sure it will grow quickly. Every one was super nice, and I think it will be a great opportunity to fellowship with some new friends.
Knox spent an entire two hours in the nursery! This was a big step for me, as a completely neurotic and hovering mother. The nursery workers said he did great during Sunday school, when I went to check on him between SS and church. I needed to feed him, so I asked where the nearest bathroom was, and I was told “Oh, we have a nursing room.” Seriously!! Coolest thing ever! I was so excited! They have a small room with a comfy armchair that adjoins the two baby nurseries where you can nurse in private. I think that is so amazing and thoughtful for them to put into the design of the church. Knox did great during the church service too, and even napped in the swing for a bit. When we came back, he was dangerously close to eating another baby’s face, but he was totally the instigator. This new face eating thing is getting out of hand! He does it to Trevor and I constantly. He pinches your cheeks or neck skin and pulls your chin into his mouth and slices you with his hard gums. Yowch! Anyway, back to the topic at hand, he did great at church.

My son did the same face-eating thing. That was his way to say “Hi” to me when I picked him up from my parent’s house everyday after work. He started doing it right around 6months and we realized he was more agressive with it just before his first tooth popped up (at about 10months old). I particulary loved the cubby hands squeezing on my cheeks while he did it
He just turned 1, and just got his 4th tooth and every now and then when he’s being silly he’ll put my chin in his mouth, and look up at me like “I could chomp down any minute!”
Enjoy the silliness of the face-chomp. The next phase will be here before you know it and you’ll miss it!
*meant to say chubby not cubby hands
You’ll get used to it! And I added this PlugIn Blog Protector. No one can right click or copy. It’s really great! And IntenseDebate is great for comments and it weeds out all the spam too.
Can’t wait to read more!
Ya I’m doing wordpress to, not so sure if I love it either. My pregnancy blog was a bloggers blog, lol (just sounds funny). But my blog is no where near are popular/ expansive as yours so I guess it works for now.
I wish my church had a couples class. It’s either women or men. While I like to go to the women’s class, it would be nice to do something together as a couple. Maybe I should whisper a little something, something into someones ear and make that happen..hehe.
Just so you know, there is a spam blocking feature called Akismet that you can use.
Maybe give it another week or two, I love Wordpress so much better than Blogger!
I’m sorry WP isn’t working out for you so far. I really like Akismet; it’s pretty good about catching spam in my comments, but I usually have to approve/reject a few. I don’t mind it, because it makes me aware of who’s reading my stuff.
That Blog Protector that Jess mentioned sounds like a good idea. On my old blog I got my stuff lifted by scrappers occasionally. I think it has something to do with feeds. It seems to be where the scrappers lift stuff from.
Anyway, I hope WP works out for you, but if not, oh well.
I didn’t even know you’d switched to wordpress! I decided I would drop in when I hadn’t seen you pop up in my google reader.
I’m glad that you’ve found a place that you two love so much. It will be a great opportunity to make lasting friends!
i have a wordpress for my photography, i HATE it. :/
I like the new design but miss the cartoon picture! I’m a Google girl, so I think I may just stay with Blogger.
My boys LOVED the nursery at church! My Knox (10 years old) would stay there if you would let him! Don’t worry about your Knox…the Lord has but caring people to love him and care for him so you can peacefully study His word! Enjoy!
Come by when you can…
