Moby wrap, take two

Posted on | March 10, 2010 | 5 Comments

Thanks, y’all, for all the advice on Knox’s holding addiction. We do have a Moby wrap, I tried using it several weeks ago, but home boy’s head was way too floppy and he hated every position that involved tucking his head in. I’m going to try it again and hope for better results!

I’ve tried slings, but I swear, I can’t find one that works. They either leave him squished beyond belief or too loose. Recommend yours, please, if you have one you love!

(And yes, I would love a swanky baby-in-front carrier, but I am currently in **discussion** with one of those companies for a potentially very exciting situation for the blog during the summer! So, I’m trying to be patient…)

Speaking of my son’s epic lungs, they’re going off right now, so I’m going to go tend to that!

Click here, please! It’s fun being in the top 20 (so I’d like to stay there!).

I actually hated my moby in the beginning too, so I went on YouTube to watch some of the ladies on how to tie it better. For us, it works better if you do not fold the fabric in 1/2 (but wear a tank or something underneath, not a shirt because you will sweat your face off if you layer up). I get mine as tight as I can and re-adjust the piece over my arms to get that snug before I even put him in it, and even though the fabric stretches to let him in, it keeps him very snug against my body. This way he falls asleep in it almost instantly.

Your little Knox is *adorable*! For your Moby, have you tried to support his head by pulling one side's cloth around a bit? I have a Baby K'tan, which is basically a preformed Moby, and that is what I did. Have you looked at any soft structured carriers that have newborn inserts – Beco, Ergo, Olives and Applesauce?

I think I'm going to have to go buy a Moby wrap…I have another sling, but he is already outgrowing it, and we need something bigger! I guess that's what you get when you have a seven week old who is almost 12 lbs.

I have a sling from babyinafishbowl who is a seller on etsy. VERY reasonably priced and she has tons of cute fabrics, and I love mine. She makes them custom for your body so your baby fits perfect in them. I use mine grocery shopping.
