Yesterday, I was coming back from lunch when I was hit with the most intense wave of dizziness I have ever experienced. Thankfully I was not driving! Everything was spinning, and I was instantaneously nauseated. I leaned the seat back and had to stay in the car for about half an hour before I could make it back inside my office. Luckily, it was just my mom and I there yesterday, so I was able to go lay down on my boss’s couch for a while. The dizziness hadn’t subsided for about an hour, so I called the doctor’s office. They wanted me to come in for a finger stick to check my blood sugar and hemoglobin levels. Apparently, the results from my Glucola test were extremely low at 63. The nurse said most people’s levels are higher than that BEFORE they even drink the Glucola. Once I was able to stand upright, I went in to get checked. My levels were normal at 91 and my iron was at 12.6, which is great. They figure that Knox laid on one of my veins and got me all wacked out. He was definitely fine, bouncing around like a madman (which was GREAT for my nausea, by the way, but at least I knew he was doing okay!). He just likes to torture his momma.
My theory on the low blood sugar is that I wasn’t allowed to eat before that test, so that’s why it was so low. If I don’t eat, I pass out and I guess now I know why! <-- See, this is proof I should be allowed to eat during labor!
Oh, and the cat poop thing was fine. As I thought.
