Well, technically we’re 11 weeks and 1 day, but still. Here is the 11 week belly pic:

Apparently, I am looking “fatter” since my mom has been telling me with regularity, “You’re gonna have to tell people soon.” She looks obviously at my stomach when saying this. Thanks, Mom. This was said just before she told me “You look pale, are you sick?” No, Mom, but thanks for making me feel fat and ugly. LOL. She is one of those people that just says it and doesn’t realize that it may be slightly rude. I can’t be mad, though, because she also told me my boobs looked bigger, which made my day.
I was using the doppler last night, and it was pretty obvious the baby was moving around. I’d catch the heartbeat, then it would disappear and reappear on the other side of my stomach, so that was pretty cool to catch the movement like that. A week from Thursday is our NT scan and I am both looking forward to it and dreading it, but I guess that’s normal. We will tell people after that appointment, thank goodness, so I don’t have to keep hiding it!
ETA: I can’t believe I forgot to tell you guys, I was forced to eat lunch at a barbecue restaurant yesterday!! ::gags, then voms everywhere:: It was awful and SO depressing. I have never in my life been to a restaurant where they have barbecue on a buffet and did not indulge until my pants are too tight. The second I walked in, the smell hit me and I though “Dear Lord, I am going to throw up right here in the floor.” I didn’t, don’t worry. I got acclimated soon, and then I ate fried chicken and rice with gravy. Such a healthy lunch.

I called my OB’s office and told them their wimpy Colace didn’t do jack for me, and that we needed to progress to something MUCH stronger. She suggested Dulcolax suppositories, and voila! They worked!! Literally within 15 minutes, which is nuts. She said to keep taking Colace as a preventative measure and to increase the fiber. I already eat a lot of fiber, drink a lot of water, etc. Ever since I took a nutrition class in college, I actively try to include a LOT of fiber in my diet, but it has been more difficult during pregnancy with the food aversions to vegetables and the like. Sorry, baby, if you don’t want veggies, but it is time for your Momma to take a stand! I can’t deal with this “issue” anymore, so we’re getting back on track!
Thanks you guys for all of your good suggestions, which I plan to keep in mind for the next time this happens (I’m not delusional enough to think it won’t).

First off, thank you ladies for all the sweet comments on my belly pic post! Ya’ll are too awesome!
Now, onto the matter at hand: I am most DESPERATE for a cure for this constipation. Give me your suggestions, please. I have tried Peri-Colace twice, which is now on my, um, “crap” list (well, not really…) because it did nada. I will be so darn happy to get rid of this rock poop, I can’t even tell you. I know you guys are so sick of hearing about the things being expelled (or not) from my body, but that is what I am focused on at the moment.
At least the dreaded gas situation I had Friday has passed. That was the worst thing EVER. I could feel all the gas swirling around in my upper abdomen, it was to the point where my baby “bump” disappeared because the top part of my stomach was so distended. And I could NOT burp, fart, anything to get relief. It was horrible. All I wanted to do all day long was break wind, it was ridiculous. I have never prayed to God to let me fart before, but sure enough, that was a milestone I reached on Friday. It hurt so badly, I literally felt like I was going to throw up. Luckily, by that night, I was passing gas like a frat boy, and things got easier.
I had a great big wedding shower at my house on Saturday, for my good friend Sara. It was uber-packed, but worth all the craziness to see the happy couple having so much fun. Thanks to my great co-host, Meli, for being so fantastic, too!
On a very happy note, I am getting awesome at finding the heartbeat on the doppler! It is the best invention ever, in my book, and I suggest everyone gets one! I use it each day when I get home from work, and it’s especially reassuring on days when you feel bad or just worry. I love it!

As requested, here is the progression of the belly. The first three pics are huge, but I have no energy to change them, at the moment. I feel horrible today for whatever reason, I don’t think eating Chicken MInis and a Cinnamon Cluster plus OJ at Chick-fil-A was a very good plan. I feel like hurling, hopefully I don’t since I have meetings this morning. Happy Friday, everyone!

Woot! I ordered it last week from BellyBeats.com and it came in yesterday. For only $25 a month, I get to listen to the babe’s heartbeat whenever I want! The site said you can generally start to hear the h/b between 10 and 12 weeks, so I was fully aware that I may not hear it at this point. The doppler is really nice (it’s not digital like the picture, though) and looked brand new, which was cool, it comes with u/s gel, so I felt like a DIY doctor when I was lubing up the transducer. It took a few minutes and all I had heard was my own heartbeat and stomach gurgling (that’s what happens when you don’t poop for a week). Finally, I heard it! I only got it for a few seconds, but it was the unmistakeable fast beat of my little squirt! I tried again later and was able to lock it down for longer and DH got to hear it too. So neat!

We also went to see Harry Potter last night, and I was really pleased. I felt like they *pretty much* stuck to the book, and it was pretty accurate. However. I was mega pissed off because for the entire movie, the whole top half of the screen was blurry. A ton of people left and complained, apparently the problem couldn’t be fixed until our showing was over and the next wasn’t for another two hours, which sucked. It took a good 30 minutes to learn to ignore the blur, so I felt like I didn’t get to enjoy the first of the movie. What annoyed me was that it was like that the entire time, through the previews and everything, so I am sure they knew before people got there that it was messed up. They should have told us beforehand! Anyway, other than that, the movie was pretty good, and I will definitely go see it again.
Also, I am officially wearing maternity pants. I have a couple pair and they are the most comfortable invention ever created! All my pants are too tight and that darn BellaBand sucks! It squeezes the life out of me and is nowhere near the heaven of the elastic waistband in my comfy maternity pants! I promise to get belly pics up this week, we haven’t taken the 10 week pic yet, so I need to get that one first so you guys can see the full progression.
